Description
Riverdale is a house that was originally a mill, likely dating back to medieval times, with significant alterations made in the 17th century, and further work in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed from coursed rubble and features a hipped and gabled roof covered with triple Roman tiles, along with some large dressed quoins and two brick ridge stacks. It has an L-shaped plan with the entrance front facing west. The house has two storeys and an attic, which includes a 20th-century gabled dormer. The façade consists of three bays with three and four-light casement windows. There are two door openings: to the left is a glazed door, and to the right is a plank door with a glazed panel and a cambered head, set in a shallow projection. Inside, the building has a cross beam ceiling and retains some remnants of an early roof.
