Description
The forecourt wall, gate piers, gates, and railings to The Gable House date from the 18th century. The structure features a section of coursed and squared rubble wall that is approximately 30 meters long and one meter high, topped with dressed stone capping. At the eastern end, there are a pair of square ashlar gate piers with pyramidal caps, flanked by paired cast and wrought iron gates. Another section of rubble wall extends 30 meters to the east, also with dressed stone capping, and includes a ramp that leads down to low wrought-iron railings with urn finials at intervals. There is a further narrow gateway at the eastern end with slab piers and a 20th-century gate.
