Description
Mulberry Cottage is a Grade II listed building located on Bread Street in Pilton. Originally built in the 18th century, it consists of three houses that have been combined into a single residence. The structure features coursed and squared rubble with triple Roman tile roofs and coped verges, supported by three brick ridge stacks.
The entrance front is two storeys high and has three bays, with 2-light casements that include a transom and glazing bars, all set beneath wooden lintels. The central entrance has a plank door and a 20th-century gabled porch. At the rear, there is a three-bay wing that is lower in height, showcasing 3-light stone mullioned windows with wooden lintels. The first floor includes a semi-circular head window at the centre, framed with dressed stone and fitted with a 6-pane casement. There are two door openings on the ground floor, both with dressed stone surrounds; the right door features a 20th-century half-glazed door, while the left opening is blocked and has a 2-light mullioned window inserted.
