Description
This is a milepost located on the roadside at Lambert's Hill in Pilton, dating from the early 19th century. It is made of cast iron and has a V-shaped design with a canted top. The milepost features raised lettering indicating distances: "Glastonbury 7" to the north, "Shepton Mallet 2" to the south, and "Taunton 28" on the top. It was erected for the Shepton Mallet Turnpike Trust.
