Description
Staple Farmhouse is a farmhouse built in 1840. It features squared and coursed blue lias stone, with a rendered south front and a hipped slate roof. The building has large brick stacks on the returns and is designed as a double pile facing east. It stands two storeys tall with three bays, showcasing 12-pane sash windows that include marginal glazing bars. The central entrance has a semi-circular headed doorway with a six-panel door and a fanlight with radiating bars. The left return, or south front, also has three bays with similar window styles. Staple Farmhouse is part of the former Portman estate.
