Description

This is a late 18th-century house with a shop, situated in a row on the south side of Quaperlake Street in Brutton. The exterior is local stone, rendered and lined with ashlar, and colourwashed. It has an undulating clay tile roof with three-course stone slates and brick end chimney stacks. The house is two storeys high and four bays wide. The first floor has 16-pane sash windows in plain surrounds. Bay 3 has a 20th-century recessed door with a plain keystoned surround. A 20th-century shopfront occupies bay 4, featuring a plain window and door, flanked by flat Doric pilasters supporting a simple fascia with a cornice. Casement windows of uncertain date are on the first floor, with the window in bay 4 likely dating to the 19th century. The interior has not been inspected.
