Description
No. 1 Quaperlake Street is a corner house with a shop, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of local stone that is rendered and features ashlar lining with painted stone dressings. The building has a Welsh slate roof with stepped coped gables and brick chimney stacks at each end. It stands two storeys high and has three bays. The shop front, which is from the 20th century, includes a plate glass window and a recessed door on the left, beneath a plain fascia on the lower bay. The second bay features a plain door with a fanlight set in a semi-circular arch, which has deep-cut spandrels and a flat moulded hood that projects slightly. Above this doorway is a 12-pane sash window, while the other windows are 16-pane sashes, all set flush with the wall. At the rear, there are two hipped projections. The interior has not been seen.
