Description
No. 18 is a house that has been converted into a shop and flat. It dates from the mid-18th century and has undergone alterations in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed of coursed squared stone with painted ashlar dressings. It features a roof made of composition tiles that imitate Welsh slate, along with red ridge tiles and a brick chimney.
The house is two storeys high and has a two-window range. There is a step up to a six-panel door on the right, which has an overlight with glazing bars set in a painted stone surround. The shop front includes a recessed glazed door on the left and a plate glass window framed by slender wooden mullions, supporting a fascia under a folding canopy on hinged iron stays. Above the shop front, there are four-pane sash windows that are almost square in shape, set in painted plain stone surrounds that are flush against the eaves. The roof features a tall chimney on the left end, made of narrow bricks with a stone band, raised in brick with a top stone band. The interior has not been inspected.
