Description

No. 24 Galgate is a house dating from the early 19th century. It is built of coursed squared stone with an ashlar plinth and dressings, topped with a Welsh slate roof and featuring brick chimneys. The house is two storeys high and has a symmetrical two-window layout. There are three steps leading up to a central six-panel door, which is topped by a two-pane overlight in a plain stone surround. On either side of the door are full-height canted bay windows that have plain sashes, with sill bands and a top cornice that extends continuously with the eaves cornice. The low-pitched roof has brick chimneys at both ends. The interior has not been inspected.
