Description

ST4916 MONTACUTE CP SOUTH STREET (East side) 8/172 No. 1 - GV II Detached house with shop. Earlier C19. Ham stone ashlar facade, cut and roughly squared work to sides and rear; Welsh slate roof to shallow pitch between stepped coped gables; yellow brick chimney stacks. Two storeys, 3 bays. Plinth, cornice; 12-pane sash windows in plain surrounds; to lower by 2 a 6-fielded-panel door set inter rectangular fanlight in plain recess: to lower bay 2 a mid-C20 shopfront, with large-pane window under 4 toplights; part-glazed door to right, and shallow fascia over. Interior not seen.
