Description
No. 3A on South Street is a house dating from around 1800, located at the end of a row. It is constructed from cut and squared ham stone with ashlar dressings, topped by a double Roman clay tiled roof featuring stepped coped gables and a brick chimney stack. The house has two storeys and three bays. The windows are hollow-chamfered mullioned types set in chamfered recesses without labels; there is a 3-light window in the lower bay, a 2-light window above it, and a single-light window in the upper bay. A 20th-century casement window is found in the lower bay 3. The entrance features a 6-panel door in a plain opening, sheltered by a flat stone hood supported by brackets. The east gable displays two 3-light mullioned windows with labels. The interior has not been seen. This house is adjacent to the rear of No. 17 The Borough, known as The Milk House.
