Description

This is a late 18th-century shop and house located on the south side of High Street in Wincanton. The building is constructed of local stone, squared and cut, with a plain clay tile roof and brick chimney stacks. It is two storeys high with attics, originally featuring four bays. A shopfront dating to circa 1900 occupies bays three and four, with two-paned windows flanked by panelled pilasters. A double, glazed door with margins sits under a plain fascia. The remaining bays have 12-pane sash windows set almost flush, framed by moulded timber surrounds. There are pitched roof dormers with two-light casement windows over bays one and three. The interior has not been inspected.
