Description
Nos 1 and 3 High Street is a former pair of houses that have been combined into one property, dating from the 18th century. No 1 is constructed from local stone that has been cut and squared, featuring ashlar dressings, while No 3 is rendered and colourwashed. Both have hipped roofs covered with clay tiles and lack chimney stacks. The building is three storeys high and has one bay for No 1, which slightly projects, and two bays for No 3. The ground floor features an early 20th-century shopfront that spans the entire width, with a central doorway beneath a bracketed and dentilled fascia cornice. No 1 has 12-pane sash windows with plain surrounds, while No 3 has modern sash windows with architraved surrounds, all equipped with false shutters. The interiors have not been seen. This property is included primarily for its group value.
