Description
Ash House is a house dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed from local square cut rubble stone with ashlar dressings and features a plain clay tile roof behind a parapet, along with a simple gable and abutment. The building has two storeys and three bays. It includes plain sash windows set in architraved surrounds. The entrance features a tall six-panel door with glazed top panels in an architraved surround at bay 1. At bay 4, there is a six-panel Regency style door beneath an elaborately glazed rectangular fanlight, which is accessed by two steps. This door is framed by wide fluted attached Ionic columns and has a full entablature under a flat moulded hood. The interior has not been fully inspected, but the entrance hall appears to be largely unaltered.
