Description
No 16 High Street is a shop with a house above, built in the later 19th century. The facade is rendered, and it features a plain clay tile roof supported by abutments and brick chimney stacks at each end. The building has two storeys with an attic and consists of three bays. The 19th-century shopfront spans the entire facade, featuring a plinth, plain pilasters, and a thin moulded fascia with a cornice that is supported by end console brackets. The central glazed shop doors are flanked by slightly bayed 8-pane display windows, which have elliptical arched heads for the upper panes. On the first floor, there are 16-pane sash windows set in plain openings. The attic features horizontal bar casement windows in dormers, which have moulded wood pediment gables that screen the pitched roofs. The interior has not been seen.
