Description
No. 15 Quaperlake Street is a house from the early 19th century, located in a row of similar buildings. It is constructed from local stone that has been rendered and lined with ashlar, and it features a colourwashed finish. The roof is made of Ludlow pattern concrete tiles, and there are brick chimney stacks at each end. The house has two storeys with an attic and consists of three bays.
Notable architectural features include a plinth, a band course, and flat pilasters topped with Doric capitals. The windows are 4-pane sash types set within architraved surrounds. The central doorway has a 6-panel door framed by a flat Doric pilastered surround with a pediment, and there is a fanlight incorporated into the entablature above. The house also has two flat-roofed dormer windows fitted with steel casements. At the rear, there is a well-preserved 19th-century wrought iron balcony attached to an extension. The interior has not been seen.
