Description

This is a 14th-century roadside cross located at Eastcombe Lane in Batcombe. It is made of dressed freestone and currently consists of two steps: the lower step is slender, while the upper step is thicker and constructed from stone blocks. The cross features a decayed socket with an octagonal upper bed, along with decayed evidence of convex broaches and a large central mortise intended for the shaft. The other parts of the cross are missing.
