Description

Hill Close is a house dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble with a slate roof, featuring coped verges and brick stacks. The front of the house is symmetrical, with two storeys and three bays. The windows are 2-light wood-mullioned and transomed casements with glazing bars, set in keyed moulded stone architraves; the ground floor windows have likely been renewed. The central door opening has a keyed architrave and double-panelled doors, complete with original brass door furniture. The rear elevation is designed in a similar style. Hill Close was formerly known as the Queen's Arms inn.
