Description
Gunnings Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating to 1711, with alterations and additions made in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of Doulting rubble with slate roofing and three rendered stacks. The building is rectangular in plan, with a five-bay facade and irregular window placement. The late 19th century features sash windows, some paired, in plain stone surrounds, except for the first bay which has three-light, hollow-moulded stone mullioned windows. A stone door opening with an ogee moulding and triangular pediment above bears the inscription "I.D.S. 1711" and contains a six-panelled door, with the top two panels glazed. Evidence suggests a further opening existed in the sixth bay, but this is now blocked.
