Description

Highfield is a house dating to around 1800. It is constructed of Doulting rubble with dressed quoins, has coped verges, and a plain tile roof with brick end stacks. The building is rectangular in plan and has a symmetrical facade. It’s three storeys high, with three bays and features sash windows with glazing bars set in plain stone surrounds. A central door opening has a dressed block surround and a slab dripmould above, now with a 20th-century glazed door. A 20th-century outshut of one storey, with two bays, is located on the left side, and a further outshut with a catslide roof extends to the rear. The property was marked on Ordnance Survey maps as Newhouse Fare.
