Description
The Manor House is a manor house dating from around 1600. It is constructed of Doulting rubble with rough quoins, part of the building is rendered, and it features a roof covered with stone tiles and 20th-century double Roman tiles, along with brick stacks. The main facade is "L"-shaped and gabled at the rear, with two storeys and an attic. The windows are irregularly arranged and include two, three, and four-light ovolo moulded stone mullioned windows, most of which have labels. There is a plain block door opening with a 19th-century glazed plank door. To the left side, there is a two-storey gabled outshut with one bay. Additional three-light mullioned windows are present on the returns and rear of the house. Inside, there is a fine well-type staircase that rises to the attic, featuring turned balusters and carved finials on the newels, as well as pierced pendants. The interior also includes two late 17th-century moulded stone fireplaces with richly carved classical oven mantles, along with three further fireplaces that have depressed four-centred arches.
