Description

This is a 15th-century roadside cross made of dressed stone, located at Stoughton Cross in Wedmore. It features a base consisting of three square steps and a square socket with shallow angular broaches. The shaft is tapering and polygonal, reinforced with iron, although the top part of the cross is missing. This information is noted in Pooley's "Old Crosses of Somerset" from 1871.
