20 And 22, East Street

This is a shop dating from the early to mid-19th century, situated on East Street in Ilminster. The building is constructed of painted roughcast and features a pantile roof with stepped stone coping and brick stacks at the right gable end. It is three storeys high and has a two-window front. The first and second floors have late 19th-century horned sash windows with two panes per sash. The ground floor now has a 20th-century bow window, and a door leading inside to the right, which provides access to a passageway at the far right. Buildings at the rear date to around 1980. The interior has not been inspected. The building is included in the listing primarily for its group value.
