Description

This is a shop with living accommodation above, likely dating from the early to mid-19th century, although it may have earlier origins. The exterior is roughcast over a probable stone rubble base, with stacks within the right-hand party wall featuring plastered brick chimney shafts. The roof is slate-covered. The building was constructed with its side facing the street, and has a plan of one room wide and two rooms deep. The three-storey front has a two-window facade. The ground floor has an altered 19th-century timber shop front. A doorway on the left leads to a former shop and passage, while a shop window to the right has replacement glazing bars. Above the shop front is a moulded cornice. Replacement sash windows are present on the upper floors; the first floor windows are without glazing bars, while the second floor windows have four panes. A timber eaves cornice with modillions runs along the hipped roof. The interior has not been inspected. The property is included in the listing for group value.
