Description
This early 19th-century house, now a shop, is located on High Street, Calne. The building has a rendered front, a brick gable stack on the right-hand side, an ashlar stack at the rear, and a slate roof. It is two storeys and an attic in height, with a four-window front. The shop front was introduced in the mid-20th century, featuring plate-glass windows and pilaster strips above a cornice and parapet. The original windows have been replaced with plate-glass sashes, and the window on the left-of-centre has been blocked. A wide dormer was added in the mid-20th century. The interior was also altered during the mid-20th century. The building is included on the list for its group value.
