Description
St Marys Fish Bar is a shop located in Ringwood's Market Place, dating from the early 19th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. The building features painted brick and a slate roof. It has two bays, is two stories tall with an attic, and has a low addition at the rear.
On the ground floor, there is an early 19th-century shop front that includes a blank door on the left-hand side and a slightly bowed three-light window on each side of a 20th-century door. Each section is flanked by slender fluted pilasters that support a small frieze and cornice. The first floor has 20th-century windows and a cornice band. The mansard roof is adorned with two semi-circular sashes that have radiating glazing bars in the heads, and there is a central ridge stack. The building is included for its group value.
