SU 1405 RINGWOOD MARKET PLACE (south side) 15/24 No 27 (Micawber Restaurant of Red Lion and Belinda Bakers)

One building, now part of public house No 23 (qv) and shop. Core probably C16, refronted early C19, altered C20. Stuccoed brick, plain tile roof. 2 storey and attic, 3 bay, LH bay part of No 23 Red Lion and has rear pile built C19 onto end of rear pile of No 23, centre bay has angled wing to rear. Front has to LH bay pair of wide 12-pane sashes, and 6-panel door under square fanlight with narrow edge panes, all under C19 shop surround and blind box. On 1st floor pair of small 9 pane sashes. Other bays have projecting shop-front on ground floor with canted bay windows each side of central glazed door. On 1st floor 2 sashes with narrow edge panes. Moulded string cornice and parapet, set slightly lower to LH bay. 3 hip-roofed dormers. Stack at each end, that to LH in front of ridge.
