Description

This is an early 18th-century building, originally the Red Lion Public House, located on Red Lion Street in Aylsham. The building is constructed of colourwashed brick with a steeply-pitched pantile roof. It is two storeys high with a cellar. A wooden eaves cornice runs along the roofline. The east side features a central casement window with side lights on the first floor. A later entrance door and shop window have been added. The building has a splayed corner at the southeast, featuring brick molding. The south gable is parapeted with brick tumbling and a gable chimney stack. A two-storey gabled wing extends to the west, also with a steeply-pitched pantile roof displaying shaped rafter ends, along with a modern chimney stack, and sash windows, one of which is a modern casement.
