Description

The Fordingbridge Dairy Shop is a shop built in the mid-18th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. It features painted brick and a plain tile roof. The building is two storeys high with an attic and has two bays, along with an outshot at the rear. The central entrance has a half-glazed door. On the left-hand side, there is a 19th-century sash window that has been altered to serve as a shop window. On the right-hand side, there is a large 19th-century shop window with thin central glazing bars and a sloped signboard above. The first floor contains two 4-pane sash windows. The roof has two 19th-century hipped dormers. The gable wall on the right-hand end features an 18th-century external stack. The shop is included for its group value, as it holds an important position at the junction.
