Description
Fox and Sons is a row of shops and offices located on Salisbury Street in Fordingbridge, dating from the late 17th century. The building features rendered brick, or possibly late timber-framing, with a plain tile roof. It is two stories high and has five bays, with a lower two-story, two-bay wing at the right-hand end along the road. The right-hand bay includes a recessed corner shop entrance and a brick corner pier. The other bays have a sign-board running across them, with shop windows and doors that are mostly half-glazed and blocked. Above, there are four early 18th-century two-light leaded casements, with the center two flanking a stone tablet inscribed '1703, CIM'. The right-hand bays feature a blind opening painted with a golden key on a blue background. The building has boxed eaves and a roof that is half-hipped at the right-hand end.
