Description

Shop and cottage, dating from the mid to late 18th century, and possibly earlier. The building is constructed of painted brick in English bond, with a thatched roof to the left and a plain tile roof to the right. The shop front is two storeys and two bays wide on the left. The left bay is brick in Flemish bond and features a garage door and a vertically boarded door to the right. The central shop front has two six-pane windows of two-pane depth and two six-flush-pane doors, all sheltered by a flat hood supported on iron brackets. A narrow fascia and nameboard are also present. Above the shop front are six-pane sashes. A cottage bay is attached to the right, with two 16-pane sashes set within moulded architraves. Brick stacks are located at each end of this bay.
