Description

This building is a cottage and shop located in Great Easton. The cottage dates from the 18th century, while the shop was added around 1900. The cottage is constructed of coursed rubble stone and has a corrugated tile roof with brick stacks at the left ridge and right end. It features stone coped gables and two storeys with two sets of 2-light casements that have small panes. On the ground floor, there is a 6-panelled door set within a 20th-century gabled porch, another similar 2-light casement, and a shop that projects forward with a 2-light casement. The shop is made of brick and has a whitewashed front and gable. The shop front, dating to around 1900, includes a 4-panelled door that has been cut to function as a stable door, a fish-scale tiled awning, an ornamental barge board, and a sash window on the left side. This building is included for its group value.
