Description
Nos. 8 and 10 High Street are two cottages that were originally three dwellings. They date from the 18th century, with some alterations made around 1800 and further changes in the early 19th century. The cottages are constructed of coursed rubble stone with quoins, and they have a plain tile and Welsh slate roof featuring brick ridge and end stacks.
The left range, which is from the 18th century, has been raised around 1800 and includes original eyebrow dormers. It is two storeys high and has four 2-light casement windows on the upper floor. The ground floor features three similar casements and a blocked window. There are two 6-panelled doors with glazed top panels, with the right door accessed by two stone steps.
The right range is lower and dates from the early 19th century, also two storeys high, and has a single 2-light casement window. A plank door is located to the right, accessed by four stone steps. No. 10 is on the left, while No. 8 is on the right, which includes the right part of the left range and the entire right range. Above the centre right doorway, there is a blank stone tablet.
