Description

The War Memorial Cross in Great Easton was built around 1920 and is made of stone. It features a double stepped octagonal plinth and a square pedestal that is chamfered to an octagon at the top, leaving the corners as simple spurs. From this pedestal rises a shaft that is square at the base and then transitions to an octagonal shape, topped with a cross that has a crenellated finial. The arms of the cross have foliated ends, and there is a shield in the center. The pedestal and the base of the shaft bear inscriptions and the names of those who fell in both World Wars. The total height of the memorial is approximately 5 meters.
