Linden House Together With Wall And Barn

Linden House, along with its wall and barn, is a house dating from the early 19th century, with origins in the 18th century, and is dated 1834. The barn is likely from the 18th century as well. The building is constructed of coursed rubble stone and features a hipped roof made of Welsh slate, with brick ridges and end stacks.

The house has two storeys and includes three centre-opening, three-light casement windows. To the right, there is a two-storey canted stone bay from the 19th century with sash windows. On the ground floor, there are similar three-light windows on either side of a central stone chamfered doorway, which has a six-panelled door with glazed top panels. The right end features 6/6 sash windows, the 19th-century stone bay, and a part-glazed door set in a painted moulded frame topped with a simple pediment.

At the rear, there is a one-and-a-half storey extension with a Collyweston slate roof, which has a tablet in the gable dated 1834. A wall with an archway extends from this extension, linking the house to the barn. The barn is also made of coursed rubble stone and has a 20th-century pantile roof. It features a gable facing, a double doorway on the left side, and a 20th-century window on the right. Inside, the barn has a three-bay tie-beam truss roof with clasped principals.
