Description
Lower Farmhouse and Barn is a house and barn dating from the 18th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble stone with quoins, featuring a Collyweston and Welsh slate roof that has a moulded stone ridge and end stacks. The barn has a pantile roof. The building is in an L shape, with a wing that projects forward on the right and has a gable that is stone coped.
The farmhouse is two storeys high. On the front of the main range, there is a two-light and a three-light casement window on the ground floor, and two two-light casement windows above. On the inner return of the wing, there is a part-glazed door, a tripartite sash window with a configuration of 2/2, 6/6, and 2/2 to the right, and a three-light casement window above. There is also a two-light casement window on the wing facing the gable. Most windows have stone sills and wooden lintels.
At the rear, there is an extension with a brick ridge stack, leading to a long barn that is one and a half storeys high, with a stone-coped end gable. The barn features a central doorway and three square loft doors that face the yard.
