Description
The Old Post Office is a cottage dating from the late 17th or 18th century, located on the west side of High Street in Great Easton. It is constructed of coursed rubble stone with quoins and features a thatched roof with brick end stacks. The gables are stone-coped with kneelers. The building has a cross wing on the left with a gable facing the street.
It stands two storeys high and has two sets of 2-light casements, with a tiny 1-light window to the left and a tiny 2-light window to the right. On the ground floor, from left to right, there is a tiny 1-light window in a moulded stone frame, a 1-light casement, a gabled wooden porch, a four-panelled door, and a 20th-century bow window. The right end gable is made of red brick. On the left side of the cross wing, there are two centre-opening 3-light windows with similar eyebrow dormers above.
