Description

The Thatched House is a late 16th and 17th century cottage located on Church Bank in Great Easton. It is likely constructed around a cruck frame, with coursed rubble stone walls and quoins, and a thatched roof. A brick stack is located at the right end. The building has 1½ storeys, with three casement windows to the front: two 2-light windows to the left, a 6-panelled door with glazed upper panels in the centre, and a single 1-light window to the right. Three 2-light eyebrow dormers are positioned above. To the right, there is a single-story extension with a hipped thatched roof and a 2-light casement window. The gable of the right end shows clasped cruck principals. According to local historical records, the interior contains four pairs of cruck blades.
