Description
The property at 12 and 13 Church Bank comprises two dwellings, with origins in the late 16th and 17th centuries, and later alterations in the 18th century. The construction is a combination of coursed rubble stone and ashlar, with a Welsh slate roof. The exterior features stone-coped gables. The western range, dating to the 18th century, is ashlar and displays two storeys with three 2-light casement windows. A central front door is present, framed by a cambered lintel and keystone. The eastern range, also of two storeys, incorporates a 2-light casement window on the first floor, a centre-opening 3-light window, a French window, a 1-light window, and a 3-light window. A glazed porch and further lean-to extensions are located at the rear. On the gable end facing the street, there is a blocked 3-light stone mullion window above a 2-light casement. Inside the eastern range (No. 12), notable features include chamfered spine beams with run-out stops, an inglenook fireplace, a pair of cruck blades, and a further blade with saddle.
