Description

A cottage, later used as a shop, was likely built in the mid to late 18th century. The building is constructed of red brick, rendered on the front elevation, and has a plain tile roof. It is positioned at a right angle to the road, and is one storey with an attic. The gable ends are parapeted, with the front gable featuring stone coping and shaped stone kneelers. An integral lateral brick stack is located on the left side of the building. There is a three-light wooden attic casement window. A shop front, added in the late 19th century, features two plate-glass windows on either side of a central half-glazed door with a rectangular overlight. The fascia above is supported by flanking brackets. The interior of the building is of no particular architectural interest. The building is included on the list for its group value.
