GV II

House. Early C19. Red brick with some sandstone ashlar dressings. Plain tile roof. L-plan. Two storeys and gable-lit attic over basement. Plinth, painted stone plat band, dentil brick eaves cornice, central triangular pediment with painted sandstone frieze and cornice, and parapeted gable ends with chamfered grey sandstone copings and moulded kneelers. Integral brick end stack to right and stack behind ridge off-centre to left. 1:1:1 bays with central break; glazing bar sashes (tripartite in outer bays) with painted stone cills and lintels. Pair of basement windows with red sandstone lintels. Central door with 6 raised and fielded panels, impost band, radial fanlight and doorcase with panelled pilaster strips and triangular pediment. Approached by 4 stone steps with flanking cast-iron spearhead railings ending in square standards with urn finials. Evidence (mark on brickwork) of former fire insurance plate above central first floor window. Rear wing with integral lateral brick stacks. Interior not inspected.
