Description
No. 9 on Whitchurch Road is a house built in the early 19th century, with later additions and alterations. It is constructed of red brick and features a slate roof with integral end stacks. The building has three storeys and a dentilled eaves cornice. The front has three windows, with six-paned sash windows on the ground and first floors, except for the centre window on the first floor, which has four panes and stained glass. The second floor has smaller glazing bar sashes, with the centre window blind and painted to look like a window. All windows are topped with grooved wedge lintels and keystones. The central entrance has a plain pilastered doorcase, a recessed four-panel door, a semi-circular fanlight, and panelled reveals. There is a gable-fronted two-storey brick addition from the mid-19th century set back to the left, as well as an addition to the rear with gables on both sides.
