Description
This is an early 17th-century house, which was refaced in the late 18th century and subsequently altered. The front of the house is timber-framed and rebuilt in red brick, with a plain tile roof. It follows a three-bay baffle-entry plan. The house has one storey and an attic, with a floor band and a decorative cornice to the eaves. The timber frame is exposed on the right gable end and the rear of the property, featuring square panels arranged from sill to wall-plate, with long straight braces and a jetty to the attic gable. There are V-struts from the collar, and projecting double-purlin ends. The windows are largely late 19th century, with segmental-headed casements to the left and centre, and a wider, late 20th-century casement to the right. Directly above, the roof overhang has tile hanging. The front entrance is located between the second and third windows from the left, and is set within a plain, 19th-century pilastered doorcase with a 20th-century glazed door. There is a red brick ridge stack directly above the centre, and an integral end stack to the left. The interior, which was not inspected, is believed to contain a chamfered spine beam, heavy timber joists, a partly infilled inglenook fireplace, and a room to the right of the entrance.
