Description
No. 52 on Upper Church Street is a house built in the early 19th century, with later additions and alterations. It is constructed of red brick and has a slate roof with an end stack positioned at an oblique angle to the left. The building has three storeys and a two-window front. The right window features a glazing bar sash with a gauged head, while the left has a tripartite sash with a segmental arch. Below, there is a similar window, and the top storey has late 20th-century casements. There are entrances on both the left and right sides; the left entrance has a plain pedimented doorcase with a four-panel door and a rectangular overlight, while the right entrance is more elaborate, featuring an open bracketed pediment and a fanlight, with a late 20th-century glazed door. This building is included for its group value.
