Description
No. 6 Lower Brook Street is a house built in 1749, as indicated by the datestone, with later additions and alterations. The structure is made of red brick sitting on an ashlar plinth, topped with a slate roof featuring coped verges on stone kneelers and internal end stacks, which were rebuilt in late 20th century red brick. The house has two storeys and an attic, with a moulded stone eaves cornice and chamfered quoins. The front has three windows, which are glazing bar sashes with projecting moulded keystones and plain lintels. There are also three gabled dormers in the roof slope. The central entrance features a six-panel door with a moulded hood supported by modillion brackets. A datestone reading "B/TH/1749" is located on the right gable end.
