Description
No. 2 Upper Church Street is a house that has been converted into a shop. It dates from the early 19th century and has undergone later additions and alterations. The building is made of painted brick and features a graded slate roof with an angled splay at the corner, along with ridge and end stacks. It stands three storeys high and has a dentilled eaves cornice. The east front has three windows, including an angled corner bay and one window to the right. The windows are glazing bar sashes, with the third bay from the south and the first floor right of the angled bay being blind. The 20th-century shop front retains 19th-century wooden pilasters at the corners. Together with No. 2 Upper Brook Street, it occupies a prominent position at the junction of Upper Church Street and Upper Brook Street and is included for its group value.
