Description

No. 52 Wheelgate is a house that has been converted into a shop. It dates from the late 18th century and has undergone alterations in the late 19th and 20th centuries. The front is made of painted brick, featuring a painted stone quoin strip on the left side. The building has a coped gable and a moulded kneeler at the left end of its pantile roof. It is two stories tall with a three-window front. The shop front is from the 20th century. On the first floor, there are four-pane sash windows with painted stone sills and painted flat arches, two of which have visible keyblocks. The building has a three-course brick eaves cornice with two cogged bands. It is included in the listing for its group value.
