Public house. Early C18, or earlier; partly rebuilt c1945. Painted pebble-dashed front, with timber doorcase; pantile roof, hipped at right end, and right of centre brick stack. 2 low storeys; 5-window front. Centre right pedimented doorcase with dentil cornice and double doors of raised-and-fielded panelling. At left end, round-arched passage entry. Ground floor windows are 12-pane sashes, those on first floor similar top-hung sashes; all have painted stone sills. (Guide to Malton Pubs).
