Description
No. 1 Bridge Street is a house that has been converted into a shop, dating from the early 19th century. It features painted brickwork and a plain tile roof, with a cross-axial brick ridge stack. The building stands three storeys tall with a cellar and has a two-window range, showcasing 6/6 sash windows beneath segmental arches and 4/4 sash windows. The eaves are adorned with brick modillions.
To the left, there is a 19th-century bowed shop front that includes a central half-glazed door with an overlight. To the right, there is a half-glazed 20th-century door set in a moulded case beneath a semicircular arch, accompanied by a 6/6 sash window under a segmental arch.
Inside, the property features an elm winder staircase. On the second floor, there are plank doors, while the first floor includes plank doors, a four-panel door, a 19th-century fireplace, a dado and picture rail, and a chamfered ceiling beam.
