Description
Nos. 2 and 3 Bridge Street are houses that have been converted into shops, dating from the 18th century. They are constructed of painted brick and feature a hipped plain tile roof with a stack at the rear. The buildings rise three storeys and include a cellar, with a four-window range. The windows are 20th-century, 6/6 sashes set under brick segmental arches, and there is a storey band with 6/6 sashes in moulded frames above, topped by a coved cornice. The ground floor has two 20th-century shop fronts, and there is a separate entrance to the upper floors on the left.
Inside, there is a mutilated 18th-century winder stair leading from the first to the second floor, featuring turned balusters. The second floor reveals exposed 18th-century timber framing, while the ground floor showcases stop-chamfered ceiling beams.
